Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium (PP) is additional funding provided to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils eligible for school meals (FSM) in the previous six years of their education.  It also includes Looked After Children (LAC) and students who have parents in the armed forces.  The amount received by the school is determined by the number of children whose parents register to received FSM and who qualify in any of the above categories.

Schools decide how the allocated PP funding is spent as they are best placed to assess the nature of the additional provision or intervention required.

Northumberland PRU is committed to closing the progress, attainment and wellbeing gaps for our pupil premium students.

Our school Management Committee and all members of staff are responsible for 'socially disadvantaged' children and are committed to meeting their academic, pastoral, social and wellbeing needs.  We work towards reducing and, where possible, removing any barriers to learning.
